Centuries ago we used animal hides as clothes so that we wouldn’t freeze to death. And if we hadn’t done that, then maybe we wouldn’t be here in the north today. But today is another time and another century. And now we can change things, we don’t need the hides and furs anymore, we have so much more choices. And they are all better.
In 2006 the association Djurens Rätt (Animal Rights Sweden) got Demoskop to do an examination about how people in Sweden felt about the fur industry. 66% wanted a prohibition against fur industry. But still nothing happens!
 
Every year 40millions of minks and chinchillas die so that they can be clothes or details on clothes. About 1 500 000 minks and roughly 2 000 chinchillas are killed in the fur industry in Sweden. And how do you think the conditions in the mink farms are? Cosy and nice? Well, then you are so wrong. The minks are stuck in a cage that is usually 45 x 30 x 90 cm or 40 x 30 x 80 cm (or like a spreaded news paper). And these normally wild animals are then stuck in their cages that’s made out of net.

A free mink lives alone and has a territory that´s between 1-6 kilometers. They live by the water and are really good swimmers. But in the fur farms they live 2-3 in a cage and they don´t have the space to move around or access to water. So if you would visit a fur farm you would probably see minks that´s doing movements that don´t fill any purpose. Well then you have seen minks that have created at stereotype behaviour. And that is a symptom of psychical suffering. It can be so bad that they start to eat eachother and even themselves
So no, They aren’t well treated and they don’t like it.

The minks and the chinchillas get food one time a day and they have a bowl of water. And they usually get by-products from the meat industry. But do you want to know something? They aren’t garbage disposal units. And the chinchillas are actually vegetarians. And that means that they don’t eat meat. And if we stopped producing so much meat then we would have less to toss. So there aren’t any arguments on why we should force others to eat our disposals. We have ourselves to blame.

And if you think that minks and chinchillas are they only animals that become furs, well, then you are wrong. In China they kidnap homeless dogs and cats and makes fur out of them. But of course they don´t say that it´s a dogs fur you’re about to buy. No, they rename them. So a dog fur can have the name: Gae-wolf, Sobaki, Asian jackal, Gou-pee, Kou pi, Gubi, China wolf, Asian wolf and Pommern wolf.
One good think is that Sweden has from now on banned import and export of dog and cat furs. But that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. And for a few years ago we bred and made fur out of foxes. But a new law came and the farms couldn’t stand up to the demands so there aren’t any fox farms left. But that’s only Sweden. They are still out there in the rest of the world.

So what do you think of furs now? Do you like wearing animals that has suffered so much just so you can wear something that you really don´t need? There is no argument for wearing fur. There is no argument for it at all.. Because you don’t need it to be warm. You can’t think about the employees that will lose their jobs if the farms will close. Because if they close, we can build something better on those spots and they can work there and be much better persons. So what is your argument for wearing fur? Are they so strong that they can break all these thing that I have said?
I really doubt it!
Stop the fur industries now and show all of us that we humans are humane.
